RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Nonlinear and semidefinite optimization, optimization of elastic structures, optimization with equilibrium constraints.

PROFILE:
I have held positions at two industrial research institutes before I joined the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences.  I have held long term research positions at the Universities of Bayreuth and Erlangen, Germany.  Before coming to the University of Birmingham I was a senior researcher at the Institute of Information Theory and Automation of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
